Animation Design & Gag Developement

A linear timeline of how I would develop animation and performance for a shot. This particular gag I designed early in preproduction while the animatic was style in flux. As we got into production, I recorded live action reference of myself performing the action to the best of my ability and then did multiple blocking passes while referencing my original drawings in order to push the performance and timing into the realm of hyper cartoony, Tex Avery style of animation.

Fabrication

The fabrication I did for "Le Charade" was mostly in the realm of puppet and armature building and casting. It was important to me as an animator to keep animation in mind for every step of the process, designing the armature to be as posable and structurally sound as possible. It is built out of wire and polycarbonate, with rigging ports implimented into the pelvis
